Breaking news has been always a subject of interest to many news networks as well as journalists and reporters. No matter what the situation is, it is always about who gets it first and who doesn’t. In the past when the web wasn’t real time, finding exclusive breaking news was a very hard task. Now, with the development of the internet and the incorporation of many real time search platforms, searching for news has become easier then ever.

Many people are thirsty to find interesting news and stories in order to use them for: their newspapers, magazines, blogs, Facebook pages, Twitter, news websites, TV…etc. Other people search for such news just to read and pass time especially if they are a subject of interest. 1- News websites: there are probably thousands if not more news websites on internet. The reputable news websites out there provide real time trusted news in order for you to read them and post them on your websites or blogs. Websites like: CNN, NY Times, BBC news…etc are always updated with the latest events and stories happening in the whole world. If you want to get everything happening without having to open all these websites, you can just subscribe to all of them and read their news on your preferred RSS reader.

2- Google alerts: this tool is probably one of the most useful tools when it comes to finding breaking news. You can put your keyword of interest into the alerts tool and get news feeds delivered to you live via email or your RSS reader. This tool offers a lot of choices and customization. You can actually customize your alerts to be delivered as they happen or at any other time. Also you can use Google search operators to narrow down your search specifications.

3- Bookmark: there are probably some websites which doesn’t offer RSS feeds. In this case you need to bookmark these news websites and check them from time to time.

4- Search engines: some search engines offer you the option to see live news in their SERPs. Google news for example offers you the luxury of seeing real time news from thousands of other news sources. If you are interested in video or audio news, then you can subscribe to an RSS search feed which will be delivered to your RSS reader by the time of its release.
RSS feeds are still probably the most powerful way to get breaking news. I know that because I used and still using them. Actually you’ll be amazed of their benefits when you use them too.
